Dallas’ BIG Celebration – March 27 – AT&T Plaza

25 Mar

B-I-G….. P-O-P-P-A…..Come out to the P-L …..A-Z-A! It’s the city’s time to shine. Then again, when is it NOT the Big D’s time to shine?! Since we supersize everything else down here, Wednesday’s outdoor spring party at the AT&T Plaza will be no smaller. Celebrate BIG D, BIG D STYLE!

BIGdtruckerhatWhy do YOU love the city of Dallas?? Helps us count the ways 3/27 beginning at 4pm as we get the party started with DJ Michael Jerome. If Live DJ’s aren’t energizing enough for you, catch the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders and Mayor Mike Rawlings in person too! Four hours isn’t nearly enough time to celebrate the wonders of this town, but it will have to do for the last Hump Day of the month.

Dallas’ BIG Celebration will run from 4:00pm – 8:00pm on March 27th right in Victory Park at the AT&T Plaza. Why wait until the weekend?

Get over that hump and cruise into Easter Weekend with a Wednesday night festival filled with upbeat music, Vocal Trash performance, putting greens, bounce houses, free giveaways and more cool treats for the entire family! There will be food and drinks available as well! You also won’t want to miss out on “Dallas Swag” so make a night of it with your fellow North Texans and celebrate the 9th most populous city in the U.S. the only way you know how, with a “fun factor’ the size of BIG TEX.

Not only is Big D NYE the largest New Year’s Eve celebration in Dallas but it’s FREE also! Everyone is welcome to Victory Park for an evening of live music, fireworks spectacular, DFW food trucks, a band competition and a grand countdown all to ring in 2013! Starting at 7:00pm on December 31st and ending at 1:00am on January 1st Big D NYE 2013 will take over Victory Park for another citywide extravaganza as we transition from 2012 into the year of 2013.

This year the Stream Energy Fireworks Spectacular will pop off from four different buildings to the soundtrack of music developed by DJ Ro Parrish. It’s one of the highlights of Big D NYE 2013 and new year’s period.

The Big D NYE 2012 | New Year’s Eve at Victory Park

20 Dec

In only matter of days we will be jumping or rather cupid shuffling into 2012! But the question is are you ready?? How exactly do you plan on bringing in the new year? Are you as ready as she is?…..

I sure hope so.

To help make things a little easier, Dallas has created our own version of a “Time Square” where there’s “dancing in the streets!” (in my best Martha & the Vandellas voice). Yep, it’s FREE too! The Big D NYE is back for its 4th year at Victory Park, Saturday night, Dec 31st. Victory Park must have some good luck to it. We’ve celebrated so many different things right here. The Stars own Brett Hull, Ed Belfour and Joe Nieuwendyk were inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame; we’ve watched great movies under the stars; even Santa stopped by a few days ago to wish the Mavs well on the upcoming season; speaking of which who threw one of the greatest celebration parties with hundreds of fans here at the Championship Parade back in June…even Lady Gaga, Michale Buble, NKOTB and Beyonce have swung thru Victory Ave. Between Blood drives, marathons, marching bands, WFAA studio happenings and tours on those “Minority Report”-type 2-wheelers, Victory Park has become a place of celebration and new beginnings. Hence the word: Victory. Now it’s time to celebrate another phase of coming events and the coming of a new year!

I’ve included a few pictures from my past experience at The Big D NYE. In fact, I think I was at the very first one they had (in 2008) with fireworks, live music and a countdown. My friends and I even got the crowd started on the electric slide and a few other line dances.

11:25pm – 12:30am……Good Question Band

Good Shive Low is the winner of WFAA and AAC’s 2nd Annual Fast Track to Fame Competition and they will help take us into the new year with their near toxic level of energy.

Good Shive Low

If you’d like to try and win a 2012 Chevy Sonic to zoom into the new year with, click here and enter the contest. Five finalists will be announced that night at Big D NYE. Hurry, because the sweepstakes ends at 11:59pm on Thursday (Dec 22nd).

Guess who will be providing food at Big D NYE… some of your favorite DFW Food trucks along with one of my Favorite Burrito spots- Freebird World Burrito. NammiTruck, The Butcher’s Son, Ssahm BBQ, Gandolfo’s Deli and City Street Grille will all be rolling into Victory Park and posted on the Ave to give you something warm, or just fresh and tasty, to appease your pallets.

If you don’t have the money for “Lights All Night” music fest down the street at the Convention Center & Omni Hotel, find your way over to Victory Park where the streets may be crowded but the outdoor festivities are free. If you use public transportation (aka the DART) you’ll probably be in even better shape. Celebrate the dawning of 2012 at a Texas-sized party with fireworks, live concerts, countdowns, contests, fresh food and Big D Fun. Who knows, we may just do the “Wobble” this year!
