It is a 16-day festival which ends on the first weekend in October. More than 5 million people attend the famous event held in Germany each year as it is an important part of Bavarian culture. (You get the opportunity to enter to win a free trip for 2 to the 2012 Munich Oktoberfest!) Free Fact: The original Oktoberfest occurred in Munich on Oct. 12, 1810.

This Festival is one of the most authentic Oktoberfest celebrations outside of Munich! For years Addison has been recognized for both it’s great 4th of July Fireworks display and their annual Oktoberfest which attracts more than 60,000 fans. According to USA Today Addison Oktoberfest is listed as one of the Top 10 Oktoberfests in North America!

Learn more about the German culture and have a great time with the entire family. The food is delicious by the way! I can’t begin to describe all of it. It’s just something you have to experience but expect a LOT of starch and meat!

It's not a festival without Funnel Cake

Motherhood the Musical – Fort Worth & Richardson

9 Aug

From the same producers as Menopause the Musical now comes Motherhood the Musical. Baby bibs and Betty Crocker meet Broadway with this show about the blessings and so called “curses” of being a mommy. It’s one thing to make it through the pregnancy, but even after the bundles of joy arrive, motherhood continues forever. North Texas moms can get ready to laugh, cry and shake their heads at this colorful 90-minute production on what it’s like becoming “MOM”.

Just in time for Back to School season, Motherhood the Musical will be showing from August 17th to September 4th in Forth Worth and September 8th to October 9th in Richardson. Dallas county and surrounding area residents will have to head over to the Eisemann Center – Bank of America Theatre and Tarrant County and beyond can catch the musical at Forth Worth Community Arts Center Scott Theatre.

Motherhood the Musical comes from an original story about four women who share their insights at a baby shower with soon-to-be-mom Amy. It will be her first time ever being a mom and she’s about to get an earful from a diverse more experienced group of women that know what it’s like to raise kids and maintain a family. There’s the single mom struggling to balance work, her family and divorce; then workaholic attorney “mom” who rarely even sees her kids and the stressed out mother of five who is over-worked and underpaid. Music and lyrics are written by award-winning Sue Fabisch.

Share your Motherhood the Musical experience with a group of friends and get discounts on tickets when you bring a group of 10 or more. For every 15 people in a group you can get 1 Free ticket! With 33 total shows in Richardson and a total of 20 in Fort Worth you’ll have ample opportunities to catch the production even if you need a babysitter for a couple of hours. That’s part of what Motherhood is about right, or is it? Maybe Motherhood even involves taking some time out for yourself every blue moon. Find out when seeing Motherhood the Musical throughout the months of August and September in North Texas!

New Moms-to-be will enjoy seeing Motherhood too

Got some tickets to the Ranger Game on Tuesday, July 26th. The seats were awesome! (Section 39 Row 8 to be exact) Here are a few shots from our time recently spent at the Ballpark in ArlingtonGO RANGERS!!

After demoralizing Minnesota 20-6…. Texas wasn’t quite as lucky in Game 2 but we had a great time anyways! Do the CLAWWWW

This was my 3rd time actually attending a MLB game/Ranger game. I feel so American and Texan when I go. We sing “Deep in the Heart of Texas” ; the entire stadium is blue, red and white; you spot plenty of 10 gallon hats (or just cowboy hats period); I get my taste of country music; meet cool people while we laugh at the drunk ones; and apart from the sport itself, the whole ambiance just says “U.S.A.”

Next time maybe we’ll go on Hot Dog Dollar Night!!

BTW, Here’s the Claw song in case you haven’t been recently to the Ballpark. Antlers up! BE PREPARED.

PS – One added bonus is the Ballpark at Arlington’s Complimentary LEXUS Valet Service. (2 thumbs up) Keep that in mind if you own a Lex and ever wanna go to a game!
