The Shops at Highland Village: Jazz at the Fountain – Tuesdays in June

The month of May might have ended but the jazz concert series at The Shops at Highland Village continue in June. With more live jazz performances by UNT faculty, alumni and students Jazz at the Fountain brings a lovely musical retreat to North Texas every Tuesday evening. The concerts are Free and open to the entire public. Each Tuesday from 7 to 9pm, the courtyard located between Chico’s and Patrizio’s hosts Jazz at the Fountain. Attendees are welcome to bring their lawn chairs and blankets and settle in for a night of jazz right in the midst of south Denton county’s luxurious open air shopping centers. Boxed picnic dinners are available from Potbellys and Corner Bakery or enjoy a delicious Italian meal from Patrizio right next door. The music will follow you no matter where you go.

The Shops at Highland Village are located at the Northwest corner of FM 2499 and FM 407.

Summer Rhythms at Old Red

There’s another FREE summer concert series you may or may not know about that takes place at Old Red Museum. On Thursday, August 4th the jazz band Natural Change will be playing from 6 to 8pm. Natural Change is a Dallas band that plays smooth jazz and R&B. The first time I heard them they were playing at Brooklyn’s one Saturday night. The four talented musicians will be providing free Summer Rhythms at Old Red Thursday evening. Not only will light hors d’oeuvres be provided but a cash bar will also be available! Keep in mind that this is a free event and Space is limited so RSVP by e-mailing RSVP@OldRed.org or at the Old Red Facebook page. This is the last concert of the series so be sure to RSVP and get there early! Summer Rhythms at Old Red is sponsored by Beyond the Box Catering and Platinum Security.

Concerts for a Cause | Free Friday Concerts at Fairview

What if I told you there’s yet another spot to catch Free concerts on a weekly basis? Well there is! If you are anywhere near The Village at Fairview on Fridays swing by for a great cause. Their “Concerts for a Cause” is a summer series that will last until August 19th. Partnering with nonprofit organizations, Concerts for a Cause attendees are asked to donate a specific item each week. It’s quite similar to Jam to Give but in a whole different area. Here’s the lineup for the 2011 Concerts for a Cause taking place EVERY Friday evening at The Grand Commons Stage at the Village Fountain from 6:00 – 8:00pm.
